This New York Fashion Week I was invited to and attended shows for Lanyu, Supima Design, Hardware London, Dan Liu, Dakun x Liu Yong, CAAFD, Marcel Ostertag, Semir x CJ Yao, Buffalo London, and C+ Series. It was a beautiful whirlwind of a week where I found myself at Spring Studios, Pier 59 and Industria. I have really fallen in love with each of the fashion week venues.
Above are my favorite looks from all of the shows combined.
Now before I get into my favorite looks from each show and my absolute must have looks all together I want to talk about fashion trends to expect this coming Spring and Summer of 2019. Let me start by saying I feel so lucky to be able to attend and write about some of the top designers up and coming and well established. I could have never imagined my life taking this direction. I was always so into fashion and design but never knew where that was going to take me and now I am here and loving it. Enough about me, you are here to find out about the upcoming trends. Here it is from the runway itself. This spring you are going to see lots of tafetta and chiffon. Ruffles are going to be making their way in your life which I am always here for. There is going to be a reemergence of sheer which is sexy and lends itself perfectly for the continuation of the freeing the nipple movement that I am always a huge supporter of. Tie dye is back y'all. Get Ready! Marigold, also known as Gen- Z yellow will be the color of the Spring 2019. There will also be quite a bit of NEON and a continuation of the animal prints we all know and love. Fringe is back in and I am here for it. There was so much fringe this New York Fashion Week. Denim is still current and trending but it's taking an edgier direction. Designers are really exploring the versatility of denim. And as always genderless fashion and androgynous pieces are on the rise.
